Out of Care Options - Mainstream
Temporary Scope of Service
During the Covid19 crisis the Out of Care Options program will continue to provide support services to families either by phone or utilizing virtual formats such as Zoom or Facetime.
Hours of Service
The hours of service are flexible and adapted to meet the needs of the family. This program is served by a part-time counsellor.
Purpose Statement
Instilling hope and building on strengths that reside in all families.
About Program
The Out of Care Program provides support to caregivers, designated by MCFD, who provide daily care for the children of extended family or friends. These living arrangements permit children to remain connected to the larger family network and avoid placement in foster care. Through the provision of an Out of Care Counsellor, caregivers receive emotional support; assistance accessing resource information; guidance and education regarding the family court process; as well as guidance and education with nurturing healthy relationships with family members.
