Today, we recognize Indigenous Veterans Day. A time to honour the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples who have served and continue to serve in the Canadian Armed Forces. Despite facing barriers and inequality at home, Indigenous veterans answered the call to serve with courage and dedication.

Their strength has played an essential role in protecting all our freedoms and shaping our shared history. We express the deepest of gratitude to Indigenous veterans and their families for their service, resilience, and commitment to making the world a better place.
