Board of Directors – Board Secretary Bart Findlay
Bart Findlay obtained his law degree in 1991 from the University of British Columbia. He initially practiced with a large law firm in Vancouver before deciding to settle in Maple Ridge. He was a founding partner of the firm Findlay Gunnell Sandor. During his career of 30+ years, he primarily practiced in the area of litigation (civil litigation, family law, criminal law both prosecution and defense) regularly appearing in Provincial Court, Supreme Court, and the Court of Appeal.
Throughout his career, Bart has been actively involved in the community, including:
- 1994-1999 Haney Neptune Swim Club Executive and a Stoke and Turn Judge for local, reginal and provincial swim meets
- 1998 B.C. Summer Games Fundraising Committee
- Ridge Meadows Hospital Co-Chair of the CT-Scanner Fundraising Committee and member of the $2 million dollar Capital Campaign to expand the hospital
- 1998-2004 Board of Directors Chamber of Commers Serving Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows (President 2000-2001)
- 1996-2016 Rotary Club of Haney (President 2001-2002)
- 2008-2009 B.C. Disability Games, Friends of the Games Committee
- 2008-2016 Ridge Meadows Youth Diversion (President 2015-2016)
- 2015-2021 Maple Ridge Community Foundation Board Member
- 2008-present Supervising Lawyer Maple Ridge & Pitt Meadows Community Legal Advocate Program
- 2021-present Retired Senior Hockey Club Executive
- 2022-present Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Community Services Board of Directors
- 2023-present Cythera Transition House Society Board of Directors
In his spare time, Bart enjoys running, hiking, golfing, hockey, and spending time with his grandchildren.
