Board of Directors – Stephen Hart
Stephen has enjoyed his 3+ years as a Board Member for Community Services. He is inspired at the good work the staff do every day for the community. His family have used some of the services Community Services provide, such as his mother, who has used Meals on Wheels and home housekeeping support. He was amazed with the staff’s flexiblity and kindness in their dealing with his mom and her husband.
Stephen is eleven years retired after thirty-one years of service as a Firefighter and Captain in the Port Coquitlam Fire Rescue Service. He was the Chairperson of the departments’ Critical Incident Peer Debriefing Team. He was also Chairperson of our Union local 1941 Political Action Team, which had the job of educating our local and provincial politicians and political candidates on the needs of our Local.
He has volunteered for his community in numerous projects:
- Soccer Coach for his son’s teams for ten years, within the Maple Ridge Soccer Association
- Assistant Director for Emergency Social Services for Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows
- within The North Fraser Therapeutic Riding Association
Stephen looks forward to new experiences in his continuing involvement as a board member for Community Services.
