As Director, Fund Development and Marketing & Communications for both organizations, you will carry forward our stories, inspire support for our missions, and help ensure a sustainable future for this collective work.

OUR OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a strategic, community-centered leader to join our Leadership Team as the Director, Fund Development and Marketing & Communications. This role is pivotal in advancing our mission by shaping how we engage with donors, partners, and the broader community.

As a member of the Leadership Team for both organizations, you will guide a talented team and oversee all aspects of fundraising, branding, public relations, and communications—through a lens of equity, inclusion, and relational leadership.

This position is about more than financial sustainability. It is about uplifting stories of resilience and connection, creating space for community voice, and ensuring equity is at the heart of everything we share.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

Fund Development & Donor Relations

· Lead a values-driven fund development strategy grounded in trust and relationship-based giving.

· Secure funding opportunities from individuals, foundations, corporations, and government.

· Oversee donor communications, stewardship strategies, CRM systems, and reporting.

· Partner with program teams to craft proposals and impact reports that authentically reflect community voice.

Marketing & Communications

· Develop and implement a communications strategy that promotes accessibility and amplifies diverse perspectives.

· Act as spokesperson and support the Executive Director with speeches, presentations, and media relations.

· Guide brand stewardship to ensure messaging is inclusive, strengths-based, and community-informed.

· Oversee all print and digital channels, including website, email, and social media.

Leadership & Strategy

· Contribute to strategic planning, financial oversight, and organizational culture as part of the Leadership Team.

· Align fundraising with financial goals and support accreditation efforts.

· Drive equity-focused change initiatives across the organization.

People & Culture

· Build and mentor a high-performing team with a strengths-based, coaching-focused approach.

· Foster a culture of learning, innovation, and reflective practice.

· Support succession planning and equity in leadership pathways.

External Engagement & Advocacy

· Represent the Agency at community events, conferences, and with media and government stakeholders.

· Strengthen relationships with donors, funders, and local partners.

· Lead campaigns and events that raise the Agency’s profile and invite public support.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO OUR ORGANIZATIONS

· Experience: Minimum 5 years in senior leadership roles within fund development, communications, or community engagement (preferably in nonprofit, social services, or public sector).

· Education: Post-secondary education in communications, nonprofit management, business, or related field.

· Knowledge: Inclusive marketing, fundraising ethics, donor relations, and EDI-informed storytelling.

· Leadership Skills: Proven ability to build and lead teams, navigate complex portfolios, and embed equity into strategy.

The Manager, Community & Family Programs is a values-driven leader who champions inclusive, equitable, and strengths-based programming for children, youth, families, and the broader community. Aligned with the mission and values of Community Services, this role provides leadership to a portfolio of programs that include our Outreach (Family Strengthening), Restorative Justice, Child & Youth with Support Needs and Child & Youth Connections programs.

Reporting to the Director, Programs & Practice, this leader fosters environments that are trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and rooted in belonging, recognizing and building upon the strengths of individuals—staff, clients, and partners alike. They work collaboratively to ensure programs meet evolving community needs while reflecting best practices and promoting meaningful impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic and Operational Leadership

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the portfolio, centering equity, inclusion, and service excellence in decision-making and planning.

• Align program priorities with organizational mission, values, and strategic goals, identifying opportunities for innovation and responsive service design.

• Manage and monitor program budgets in collaboration with Finance, ensuring transparency and fiscal responsibility.

• Implement strengths-based frameworks for planning and evaluation that highlight existing assets, encourage learning, and support continuous quality improvement.

• Guide long-term program growth and sustainability in response to emerging community needs and priorities.

Program Oversight and Evaluation

• Ensure all programs meet contractual obligations, accreditation standards, and reporting requirements.

• Cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with community agencies, funders, and internal teams to enhance service coordination and outcomes.

• Lead program evaluation and feedback processes, centering the voices and lived experiences of families and participants.

• Ensure inclusive practices, systems, and documentation that support accountability and reflect diverse identities and needs.

• Allocate staffing and resources strategically to promote service quality, staff wellness, and equity across programs.

People and Culture

• Model inclusive, relationship-oriented leadership that values team diversity, authenticity, and collaboration.

• Support staff to leverage their strengths and foster a sense of belonging and purpose within their roles.

• Lead recruitment, onboarding, supervision, and coaching with an emphasis on equity, psychological safety, and growth.

• Promote a feedback-rich culture that recognizes contributions, fosters professional development, and builds team resilience.

• Address performance concerns with clarity, compassion, and fairness, in collaboration with HR and in alignment with Collective Agreement provisions.

Administrative and Compliance

• Ensure program documentation and practices meet agency policies, privacy standards, and accreditation requirements.

• Uphold occupational health and safety standards to prioritize staff and client well-being.

• Review and approve administrative documents such as timesheets and expenses in a timely and accurate manner.

• Participate in, or delegate representation to, relevant internal and external meetings to ensure collaboration and effective information flow.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Psychology, or a related human service field; a Master’s degree is considered an asset.

• Minimum 3–5 years of progressive leadership experience in family and community services, including supervisory or program management roles.

• Training or demonstrated knowledge in trauma-informed practice, family systems, restorative justice, and community program delivery.

• Experience with program evaluation, outcomes measurement, and quality improvement processes is an asset.

POSITION: Restorative Justice Program Coordinator

Community Services’ Restorative Justice Program facilitates a restorative approach in achieving justice by engaging those involved in harmful and/or criminal events, in dialogue about harm, reparation, accountability, and supports while addressing the needs of all parties.


The Restorative Justice Program coordinator is responsible for ensuring an approach to justice that focuses utilizing a victim centered approach to address the harm caused while holding the person who has caused harm responsible for their actions, by providing an opportunity for the parties who have been harmed to identify and address their needs. Restorative justice encourages meaningful engagement and accountability and provides an opportunity for healing, reparation and reintegration.


This position supports the person who is harmed and person who caused harm to meet the principles of engage, empower, support and restore. The Restorative Justice Coordinator supports individuals within the Client-focused model of Restorative Justice Services. The Restorative Justice Coordinator is responsible for written documentation, liaising with the supervisor, RCMP officers, Crown Counsel, businesses, and other community schools and representatives.


ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Overseeing and leading intake, case development, pre-meeting, and facilitation with the ‘harmed persons and the one who harmed’, restorative justice conferences, and/or circles

• Restorative Action education and support within schools
• Responsible for prioritizing timelines and/or deadlines as per client cases within program structure and availability.
• Responsible for all client documentation, organization and security of material including legal documents, applications, research material and referral information.
• Responsible for participating in training opportunities and information sessions made available through the RCMP, RJBC and the community.
• Responsible for program development, project planning and evaluation including:

– Maintaining current information to reflect trends and needs of community and individuals

– Maintaining and developing a resource directory of community contacts.

– Planning for and acquiring resource materials to aid in the delivery of service.

– Completion of annual program report.

– Providing public education as necessary.


• Responsible for fostering relationships and collaborating with the RCMP, Crown Counsel, and community partners and to conduct training or presentations as requested
• Group facilitation
• Responsible for adjusting hours to meet program demands.


QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and Experience

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related/social services field such as Restorative Justice, Psychology, Education, Child and Youth Care, Counselling, Criminology.
• Restorative Justice mediation/facilitation/conferencing training and experience.

• Experience facilitating individual and group discussions that may involve strong emotions and difficult topics.

• Clear Criminal Record Check is required.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
• Valid and unrestricted Class 5 BC Driver’s License with access to a safe and reliable vehicle.

POSITION: Community Support Worker

Our Community Living Support program provides one on one support to individuals living with mental health challenges. We focus on the direct needs of individuals and support them realizing their full potential and achieving independence.
In this full time (35 hours per week) position, our Community Support Worker will be responsible for supporting clients with severe and persistent mental health issues to live independently within the community. The majority of the work is done with clients in their home and/or within the community.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
• Minimum of a two-year diploma or degree in a social services related field.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience working with adults living with mental health issues.
• Knowledge of the principles of psycho-social rehabilitation.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Facilitating life skills training that includes teaching of self-care, home management, community management and social leisure skills.
• Assisting clients in gaining necessary knowledge of available services within the community, how to access services independently, and how to advocate for self.
• Assist client in gaining the skills necessary to successfully acquire appropriate living accommodations.
• Providing assistance navigating a variety of environments such as home, grocery stores, banks, etc.
• Providing updates to the clients’ Primary Therapist to fulfill case conferencing expectations as per the Individual Services Plan Agreement.
• Advocating/liaising on behalf of the client to deal with any concerns/issues at hand, as required.
• Supporting clients by referring pertinent issues to the client’s Primary Therapist at Mental Health, (e.g. medication, suicidal ideations, family concerns, changes in client’s functioning level).

We’re looking for a compassionate, collaborative professional to join our Social Prescribing team—someone who sees the strengths in every senior and is committed to advancing health and well-being through inclusive, person-centered supports.


At Community Services, we believe in a holistic approach to health. Our Social Prescribing Program works alongside clinical care to support seniors in accessing the full spectrum of community resources that enhance physical, mental, and emotional well-being. From nutrition and exercise to social connection and caregiver support, we walk alongside seniors as they explore what matters most to them.


ABOUT THE ROLE:
You’ll provide culturally responsive, strength-based support to seniors through meaningful relationships, health and wellness planning, and coordinated referrals. This includes:

Partnering with seniors to complete intake assessments, co-create wellness plans, and conduct regular follow-ups, including frailty assessments every 3 months.

Building strong connections with seniors through home visits and ongoing support grounded in respect, autonomy, and dignity.

Collaborating with health care providers and other community connectors to ensure seamless and responsive care.

Identifying and coordinating access to a wide range of community services—both formal and informal—that reflect each senior’s unique strengths, needs, and cultural background.

Creating presentations and sharing program impacts with funders, health professionals, and other stakeholders to raise awareness of the Social Prescribing model.

Writing grant applications, outcome reports, and supporting the completion of program-related documents in accordance with agency and funder requirements.

Participating in Communities of Practice and meetings with the United Way and other partners to share learning and amplify collective impact.

Contributing to a supportive team environment by working closely with colleagues across our Seniors Department to plan events, recognize volunteers, and continually improve our programs.


WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

Deep understanding of the diverse experiences and barriers seniors may face, particularly those who are vulnerable or at risk of social isolation or frailty.

Minimum two years’ experience supporting seniors, with demonstrated ability to create individualized wellness plans and connect people to appropriate resources.

Comfort with in-person outreach and home visits, grounded in a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach.

Experience using platforms such as BC Healthy Aging CORE and iUnite for reporting and coordination.

Proven skills in program reporting, grant writing, and stakeholder presentations, including funders and healthcare professionals.

Strong knowledge of local, provincial, and federal seniors’ services, with a commitment to lifelong learning and cultural humility.

Ability to collaborate across sectors and with diverse stakeholders to create inclusive, responsive systems of support.


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Education and Experience – You bring a diploma in a related human or social services field, or you’ve gained equivalent knowledge through a meaningful mix of education, training, and lived or professional experience.
