The Community-Based Victim Services Program provides information, community referrals, emotional, practical and court support to victims and their families.

Who Is Eligible

Victims, immediate family members and witnesses of all ages, cultural groups who have experienced any of the following crimes of violence:

bulletSexual abuse
bulletRape
bulletSpousal assault
bulletCriminal harassment
bulletHate crimes
bulletOther forms of violence

Those eligible for support must either reside in Maple Ridge or Pitt Meadows or the offense must have arisen in one of these communities.

This program is offered free of charge.

We have zero tolerance for violence.  To ensure safety for everyone, services will be terminated under the following circumstances:

bulletAbusive or violent behaviour
bulletAttendance while under the influence of drugs or alcohol
bulletLength of service determined by client need

Funding

The Provincial Government of British Columbia has funded the Specialized Victim Assistance Program since 1987 and it is currently funded by the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General.
