About Program
Provides programs to all Aboriginal groups (i.e. First Nation, Metis, Urban) and offers information, support, referral services, informal education in traditional teachings and a strong cultural environment that encourages a sense of belonging.

Aboriginal parenting |
This program encourages the development of parenting skills by information sharing and group participation. A light dinner will be served. Child minding on-site.
Provides parenting resources including communication strategies, traditional teachings and ceremonies. For Aboriginal parents who are looking for support and who would benefit from parenting resources, parenting support and positive parenting strategies. |
Aboriginal parents and grandparents who are residents of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows |

Support Circles for men and women |
Support circles for men and women through workshops, healing circles, talking circles and information about life skills training, health and healing resources, Aboriginal issues, human rights, cultural survival, education, employment, addiction, abuse and neglect, anger management as well as longhouse and sweat lodge ceremonies. |

Traditional Kitchen/Sizzling Chefs |
Community Kitchen will share meal ideas and recipes that the whole family can make & share together. Please RSVP by the first Monday of the month, so we can prepare enough food for everyone to ENJOY!
Available on a voluntary basis with priority given to families and individuals with assessed needs such as isolation, low income, single parent etc. Individuals or families may attend as their sole connection to Anishnaabe Place or as part of their Family Strengthening or Support Circle connection.

Teaching to Youth – Tool Time |
An 8-week program held on Katzie First Nation. Youth ages 12—16 years are invited to join this exciting group, where they can come together to learn, laugh and support one another. Social activities, enhancing life skills, promoting cultural awareness and teachings are just part of the fun!
Youth may be experiencing difficulties with community and may not feel connected to their culture. |
Aboriginal youth, aged 12-18 years, who are referred by the Ministry of Children and Family Development. |

Family Strengthening |
Intensive parenting support for parents who require individual, home based coaching, parenting skills and household maintenance resources. |
Aboriginal families who are residents of Maple Ridge or Pitt Meadows who have either been identified by the Ministry of Children and Family Development or who have identified themselves as needing family support. |

Storytelling |
To learn more about parenting resources in your community. First Nations stories, puppets and more.
