Philosophy
The Rainbow Club is a supportive psychosocial rehabilitation environment designed to assist those people who are living with mental illness. The club exists for the benefit of members. The focus of The Rainbow Club is on the health, not illness of members, on what people can do, not what they can't do. Participants are members, not clients or patients. Members and staff working together determine activities and direction of the clubhouse. Members gain independence and health through the clubhouse, friends, employment, housing, support groups, learning new skills, refining skills, making decisions and taking control of ones life. Members choose and or design activities that are interesting and challenging, not simply do what is offered.
