Community Living Services for Children,Youth & Families

Providing group and one to one services for children, youth and families - helping to develop new social relationships, participate in community activities and build independent living skills.

Community Living Services

Community Living Services provide goal directed, child focused support services directly to the children, youth and families to meet the needs where the child(ren) requires extra educational, medical, social-environmental support to enhance or improve their health, development, quality of life and integration into the community.  This includes children and youth with impairments that limit their ability to participate in their daily activities at home, in school, and in their communities.

Offered are three peer/socialization groups for ages 6 though 18 years old as well as Ministry appointed one to one support.

Eligibility for the Programs

Participants between 6 - 18 years old may include one or more of the following impairments:

bulletSocial, emotional, behavioural issues
bulletSelf-help/advocacy
bulletCommunication (speech, language, hearing)
bulletSensory/motor development
bulletExceptional health needs

Programs Description

Friday Night Social Group

Group 1 (15 - 18 year olds)

Group 2 (11 - 14 year olds)

The Friday Night Social Group will work on an alternating schedule of every other Friday.  these groups from 4:30 - 8:00pm with dinner provided.  The groups will be participant driven and focus on peer/social interactions and highlighting "Fun, Friends and More Fun".

Saturday Morning Energizers

(6 - 10 year olds)

The Saturday Morning Social Group will run alternating Saturdays from 10:00am - 1:30pm.  Bagged lunches are to be provided for your child - kitchen and microwave facilities may not be available for use.  This group will be participant driven and focus on peer/social interactions with a strong focus on physical activities.  "Fun, Friends and Trying New Things"

Program Expectations

bulletParticipants are expected to be transported to and from activities by parents and/or caregivers unless otherwise specified
bulletParticipants are asked to arrive on time as not to delay the days activities
bulletParticipants are to be wearing and/or bring appropriate clothing/heat for the days activity
bulletParticipants should bring their own bagged lunch unless otherwise indicated
bulletParticipants are expected to engage in the days activities in a safe and appropriate manner, causing no harm to themselves or other individuals within the program
bulletMost importantly, participants are expected to have FUN!!!
