Children & Youth Mental Health Program
The
Child and Youth Mental Health Program provides information and support to
individuals under the age of 19 dealing with a mental illness in our
community. Using current, up-to-date evidence based treatment
concepts, the program strives to alleviate the stigma and misunderstanding
a youth and their family may face as a result of the illness.
Goals
The goals of the program include, but are not limited to:
 | Improved peer relations |
 | Reduced social isolation |
 | Increased knowledge of mental health diagnosis |
 | Enhanced connection to community resources |
 | Improved family relationships |
Who Is Eligible For The Program?
With a referral from MCFD Mental Health Team, a child or youth between
the ages of 10 - 19 with a diagnosis of, but not limited to:
 | Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder |
 | Conduct disorder |
 | Depression |
 | Obsessive-compulsive disorder |
 | Schizophrenia |
